This basic pump operation and repair manual for water and wastewater gives operators the necessary information to properly operate and maintain centrifugal pumping installations. Written for those unfamiliar with pumps, the chapters are presented as lessons, with each chapter ending with a short quiz. Heavily illustrated, the chapters cover centrifugal pump theory, types, components, repair, selection and replacement of packing and mechanical seals, piping systems, hydraulics, normal and abnormal operating conditions, and special pumps.
